Holds bachelor’s degrees in informatics (1991) and mathematics (1996) from UERJ, a master's degree in mathematics (1998) and a PhD in mathematics / computer graphics (2004) from the National Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics - IMPA. He has worked in research in the area of discrete differential geometry and its relationship with partial differential equations. His areas of interest also include mathematical models in epidemiology, game theory and agent-based models.
