The Director of the School of Applied Mathematics at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EMAp), César Camacho, is in Lima, Peru, to participate in meetings at the National Council for Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (Concytec), which will take place until the 22nd. This is an agency linked to the Peruvian government and is responsible for coordinating and evaluating scientific actions in the country to promote the development of the area of research and innovation in the country.
Camacho is the president of the advisory committee, formed by famous Peruvian researchers and scientists, which provides assistance to Concytec and the Peruvian government in matters related to Science and Technology. By way of analogy, the agency has the same objective as the National Council for Science and Technology (CCT), linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) of the Brazilian government.
A native of Lima, Camacho is already familiar with Concytec and has participated in the series of meetings and gatherings since 2021, when the committee was created by the Peruvian government. On the agenda, researchers are discussing public policies and initiatives in favor of the development of Technology and Innovation projects in the country's scientific sector.
