About Event

Recent advances in Biology and Medicine have led to accumulation of data sets that are enormous in both size and complexity. This avalanche of data has then been met with increasingly complex mathematical and statistical methods, designed to answer increasingly complicated quantitative questions. It is fair to say, however, that methodological developments have struggled to keep pace.

In this talk I shall give a few examples of the challenges involved in bridging the data we have and the questions we would like to answer, with particular focus on Epidemiology.
